Essential Oils for a Good Night’s Sleep

Do you ever feel like you are so sleepy that you can barely keep your eyes open when you are chatting with your spouse or on the phone? Then you get to bed and you are wide awake. This is the very thing I hate. It is like your body is telling you GO TO BED, then changes it mind saying JUST KIDDING. REALLY…? Want to know how to get back in to that sleepy state? Well today I am going to share with you some of my favorites Essential Oils to use for a good night rest.

Studies have shown that one in three adults aren’t getting a proper amount of rest. Beat the odds, stop counting sheep, and use these essential oils to help you drift off into dreamland!

Having a fully restful nights sleep is important for your body and mind. By limiting your sleep, you can ultimately do damage to your body and cause it to lose energy rapidly. Stress levels will also rise with improper sleep, which makes dealing with the days confrontations and people interactions more difficult. Using essential oils through aromatherapy can help you maintain levels of peace, remove the days stress, and help you sleep soundly for the ultimate refreshing morning.

A busy worker whether you’re an employee or the business owner like myself you have stress building throughout the day. Stress can seriously inhibit a good nights sleep. The unsettled sleep will increase chances for increased stress and can ultimately hurt your immune system. Essential oils used in aromatherapy can help you relax and sleep more soundly throughout the night. Having a good nights sleep is analogous to recharging your body’s batteries. I have notice it helps me be very efficient for the next day. When I have poor sleeping habits I also noticed that I am very inefficient the next day and get stressed out very easily.

Some people feel that a quantity of sleep is important. However that isn’t true it is the amount of sleep that you need that is important, but the amount of highly effective sleep that is most important. Getting six to seven hours of sleep is important for your body to replenish the energy levels that it has lost from the days activities.

Have you ever slept 10 hours and still woke up very sleepy? It is because sleeping a quality 6 hours of sleep is highly more beneficial than sleeping a poor, restless ten hours of sleep. Sometimes over sleeping is not the best for your body.

Essential oils used in aromatherapy can help you fully relax to facilitate your ability to fall into a deep sleeping whereby qualifying your sleep as fully effective for your bodies energy replenishment. You will notice the difference the next morning when you wake up and feel totally revitalized from the previous day. Not only will you feel replenished on the outside, but you will notice your mind and body will feel completely different as well.

There are several essential oils that can help you have a good nights sleep. The most relaxing of all of the essential oils are Lavender, Cedarwood, Bergamot, Clary Sage, and Frankincense. Although each has beneficial effects separately, also you can blend some for a better effect on your mind and body.

Here are some essential oils that will help with a good nights rest:

Lavender

Lavender’s freshly floral scent will give you a worry-free outlook and let your mind set aside tomorrow’s concerns. It is one of the most popular essential oil that not only helps rejuvenate your mind but is also good for a lot of things.

Cedarwood

Cedarwood is a soothing essential oil that helps relax from stress. The oil is extracted from the Cedar tree, so its fragrance is woody and refreshing to the mind.

My favorite sleepy diffuser blend is:
3 Drops of Lavender
3 drops of Cedarwood

Bergamot

Bergamot is a peel from an exotic fruit that smells like the popular citrus scent you get from other fruits. The potent citrus smell makes you feel refreshed and it calms your emotions to give you the euphoric feeling of a calm spirit.

Try blending it with other oils to produce an uplifting feeling with a relaxing state that helps you sleep better.

Clary Sage

Clary sage is a popular essential oil to relax your spirit and it helps get rid of the restlessness from stress and an overactive emotional state. As with some other essential oils, it is distilled from the leaf of a plant that is known to relax you simply from its aromatic smell. It brings you a feeling of well being and within twenty four hours will make you feel like you can conquer the world.

For peak relaxation, ask your partner to rub your back. You’ll feel amazing and even find that your skin looks healthier and glows more vibrantly!

Frankincense

Frankincense is a rejuvenating essential oil that can help you balance the stress of life. Frankincense is an essential oil that has been used for thousands of years as a therapeutic ingredient to help people relax and aid in meditation. The ancient herb has been used in ancient religious ceremonies to uplift the spirit and help the mood. This essential oil will soothe you so that you no longer feel as if the stress of the world is on your shoulders. It helps you ultimately relax and keeps your emotions at bay so that you can sleep throughout the night. The fragrance of the Frankincense is great for the mind since it is the main factor for stressfully restless nights.

Try rubbing this deep scent on your chest and let your mind empty of all the day’s cares.

You can purchase the essential oils separately, but I recommend getting the starter kit. It is the best bang for your buck. Click here for more information on the starter kit.

Lastly, try the blending the oils you will love the smell and get a good nights sleep and give you the most refreshed feeling in the morning. What are some of your ways to get a good night sleep?
